For the first outing of the year, we joined and documented the protest against racism and xenophobia on 11 January in Lisbon, ‘Não nos encostem à parede’. It was a well organised and quite successful demonstration. After navigating the dense crowd from Alameda to Martim Moniz and filling the cards with images, the walk ended with drinks at Sputnik (near Largo do Intendente), followed by a succulent dinner at — a first, i believe — a vegan place.
Here is a selection of the images made on that day.

CALL
This free newsletter aims to show a selection of images from the walks and/or the Lx photo community in a way that is slower than speedy scrolling on social media, and to create a place where the images can be looked at with ease, time, and on a bigger screen.
For the next issues, i’m inviting contributions on the themes of FOG (very de saison) and IMPRESSIONISM [that is, images where the attention is on touches of light and colour rather than on absolute sharpness, an effect achieved through ICM (intentional camera movement), spreading a bit of vaseline over the filter on the lens, or any other trick that comes to your mind] — no matter whether the images were made on photo walks or not. In the future, we might also feature projects by members of the community (more details on this soon).
1. share your recent images of FOG here: https://forms.gle/DPwxXAtExakekPzZA
2. share your recent images à la IMPRESSIONISM here: https://forms.gle/Jn2MBsJFViujVGQ2A
Deadline for both: 24 Jan.
Feel free to invite your friends and family to subscribe to this newsletter with friends and to forward it to any person that may be interested.
That’s all for now, folks. See you on the next walk!
